The Fabrication Operative is responsible for the assembly of modular steel frames, with Sikla components, according to technical drawings and specifications. The role requires attention to detail, ability to read technical drawings and capacity to handle heavy materials.  You will work with tools to cut and assemble metal parts, ensuring quality standards are met.

Your key duties and responsibilities

•    Reading and interpreting technical drawings
•    Assembling steel parts into finished products according to project specifications
•    Operating industrial cutting equipment
•    Inspecting components and assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards
•    Cleaning tools and tidying up the workshop
•    Identifying and reporting any defects or discrepancies 
•    Packing assembled frames 
•    Ensuring all stock is in the correct location
•    Working with tight timescales and given deadlines
•    Supporting occasionally, when needed, with warehouse duties (goods-in, picking, stock checks, etc)
•    Maintaining a high level of health & safety standards
•    Completing required documentation and reports promptly

Your Profile

•    Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings 
•    Good metric and numerical skills
•    Skilled in using various fabrication tools and machinery.
•    Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
•    Good problem-solving abilities 
•    Ability to lift and carry heavy materials 
•    Previous experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment 
•    Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements
•    Understanding standard warehouse processes 
•    Working with initiative and drive under tight timescales
•    Being a team player and enjoying working in small teams
•    Flexible, willing to learn and with a keen eye for detail
•    English proficiency (written and spoken)

Package

  • Working Hours:
    - Core working hours Mon-Thu 7.45AM-5PM | Fri 8AM-3PM
    - Occasional shifts rota Mon-Fri 7AM-10PM
  • 25 days annual leave (+ bank holidays)
